Hi, I’m Rafaël Deroo
As the son of a WWII researcher at the Belgian Centre of Expertise for the history of 20thcentury conflicts (www.cegesoma.be), I have become what they call a history buff, roaming Europe’s battlefields and museums.
After years working as a civil servant in Flemish, Belgian and European administrations, I created my own company People&Ideas in 2017, creating content, events and consulting for European fortified history networks and wrote a history book on the WWII German Atlantikwall in Normandy and allied commando action in the Cherbourg peninsula.
The specific tour guiding activity WWTOURS & Remembrance comes from these experiences. It channels my unstoppable drive to connect with people and discuss the difficult military heritage that we have in Europe and the world.
Join me on these walks through Europe’s contested years, from Waterloo to WWII.
